Employment

Farm work is an honest day’s work. Fresh air, beautiful scenery, and the rhythm of the harvest is one of the benefits over and above the pay check. Whether you work on the longline, on the shore or in the plant, you will feel good about the fruits of your labour and our support, while working as part of our team. Please see current employment opportunities below and contact us jobs@macsoysters.com

Oyster Shucker

Our hand shucked oysters are a stable brand in grocery stores across Canada. People love what you make. We have a loyal following of fresh shucked pacific oyster meat consumers. You will work as part of our shucking line, hand opening by knife oysters from the hopper and putting in buckets that are then washed in the packing room. You are paid by the quantity of oysters you open during the shift.

Oyster Picker/Grader/Packer

At low tide the oyster picking team goes to the beach to harvest oysters. These are put in nets and brought in on shipping day to be hand graded for size and quality. You will be working on both the beach and plant harvesting, grading, and packing oysters.

Clam Digger

During low tide day or night, the clam digging team heads to the beach with bucket, shovel and rake to dig some of the best clams Mother Nature has to offer. The clams that you dig are enjoyed all over the world from Spain to Singapore, Dallas to Toronto. You can make impact on chefs and peoples culinary experience globally and never have to leave Fanny Bay.

Happy Customers

“I have been buying oysters from Mac’s for about 30 years. Big ones, little ones. In the shell and shucked. Once I bought a bag of baby oysters and seeded my own beach. Mac’s oysters are FANTASTIC!! I could eat them every day. Today my wife and I feasted on a full 32-ounce bin of mediums, fried in butter. Heaven. Thank You Mac’s!!!!!”
